Why use hair extensions?

Whether you want an overnight change in your appearance, or your extensions are to help with a hair problem - the big advance in extension technology in the last 5 years has allowed specialist salons to offer systems that are more natural, durable and easier to maintain.

A change to your hair style can be more dramatic and effective than any amount of make-up or designer clothes. Therefore, a "new look" is the main reason our clients visit us.

Long locks can be added to increase length, shorter sections can boost body and volume - or localised additions can create impact with a new fringe or accentuated crown.

Hair extensions also offer great solutions for people who have areas of thinning or damage though over-use of tongs or colouring products.

Hair extension adds hair (human or synthetic) to your own hair by weaving, braiding, strand-by-strand, or bonding. Usually, it's done by a skilled hair dresser, but many individuals have been applying it in their own homes.

Hair extensions can make you look and feel younger and beautiful. They can improve the looks and confidence of people with healthy hair, but are also a good solution for people with thinning hair. Hair extensions are still worn predominantly by African-Americans, but more and more people of all ethnic backgrounds are using them as an alternative hair fashion.

Hair Extensions Care Instructions

4 instructions are for all hair extensions types

1. Keep the hair clean. You may wash your hair daily. If not daily, you should wash it at least once or twice a week with warm water. Wash* your hair immediately after swimming, spa, exercise, etc. Hair will typically become tangled when dirt and sweat accumulate. Too much leave-in conditioner and other hair care products will create a build up on the hair causing it to tangle faster. If the hair feels dry or heavy with buildup, wash it with a recommended Shampoo and Conditioner.

Washing the Hair:

Hold your head backwards or in the direction the hair is styled. Do not bend over. Apply shampoo to the scalp diluted with lukewarm water. Massage the scalp carefully with the fingertips. Rub gently, spreading the shampoo over the entire scalp, without ruffling the hair. The extensions are cleansed by the shampoo that flows over them. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, while sorting the hair with the fingers. Use the recommended conditioner and carefully apply to the hair ends only. Leave in for 5 or 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly while pulling your fingers through the hair.

Gently dry the hair with a towel or tissues. Then let the hair dry naturally and style with rollers and blow-dryer. Do not pull, comb or brush when the hair is still wet. When blow drying work your way towards the ends of the hair.

Do not hold the dryer too close to the bonds

2. Wear a cap while swimming or keep your hair out of the water to prevent prolonged exposure to chlorine or salt water. Exposure to chlorine or salt water may cause the hair to tangle. We recommend pre-wetting your hair with water then applying a recommended conditioner before swimming. This will keep the hair from absorbing too much chlorine or salt water. Always wash the hair right away with a recommended shampoo and conditioner after swimming in either type of water. When going to the spa, the hair should be brushed out completely and should be wrapped in a cold wet towel. Even the best extension hair has been known to mat up the instant it is exposed to salt water. Matting can also result from perspiration.

3. Put your hair into large braids or pony tails before sleeping, swimming, or exercising. Untangle the hair before making the braids. Ensure that the hair is completely dry before going to bed.

4. Brush using a recommended Extensions Brush 2-3 times daily from the ends to the root. Apply a recommended leave-in conditioner so the hair is soft and manageable. Using a recommended leave-in hair treatment helps prevent the hair from drying. If too much leave-in treatment is applied, the hair will feel too heavy due to build up. To treat dry hair or hair that has become heavy due to buildup, wash it with a recommended Shampoo and Conditioner.

Additional Care Instructions for Fusion Extensions

You must wait 48 hours after receiving the hair extension service to: wet, shampoo or receive any additional chemical treatments.

Shampoo hair daily or every other day as a minimum. Natural body oils can create a “sticky” bond. Removing these oils gently yet thoroughly from the scalp is essential to secure bonding, keeping the hair soft, and preventing “bunching” and “tangling”.

Always wash hair in a downward motion, working the shampoo from the “root end” (top) of hair, to the points (bottom). Do not scrunch or wad the hair up during this process as the hair can become tangled during the deep cleansing process. Once the hair is shampooed you may apply conditioner three to four inches away from the scalp through to the bottom. Do not allow the conditioner to come into contact with the extension bonds.

Carelessly dispensing treatment products on top of your head and working or rinsing them through your hair may allow the product to reach the bond. The product may permeate and soften the bond. This may result in shedding or loss of the hair extensions, and create difficulty during the removal process.

Do not dry with a scrubbing action. Instead, wrap hair with a towel to absorb the water.

Extreme pulling of extensions may result in loss of your own hair. Brush hair with the recommended extension brush to keep your scalp and hair in good condition. Bonds will become tangled without daily brushing. Natural fallout of your own hair may cause tangling between the bonds. Therefore it is necessary to brush from scalp to ends daily. Run your fingers between strand-by-strand extensions once or twice a day to keep bonds tangle-free and separated.

Hair extensions allow you to style your hair using many normal hair techniques. Blow drying and hot irons should not damage your extensions. However, do not place a hot iron or any other hot styling tool directly on the bonds as they may soften or melt.

Before going to sleep, pull your hair back in a braid or loose tail. After sleeping, unravel the braid or loose tail and brush with recommended brush from nape of neck up. Do not sleep on wet hair. Sleeping on wet hair may cause tangling and matting of the hair and softening of the bonds, resulting in hair shedding.

Hair Extensions - the Truth About Instant Long Hair

Hair extensions - a few hours in the salon and you have long hair that looks like a dream. But is there a downside? Professionally made hair extensions can completely transform your appearance without affecting the health of your hair, but if they are done wrongly extensions can seriously damage your hair. You should know what to expect before going to the salon.

Would hair extensions cost a fortune?

Yes, extensions done by a professional hair extension artist and made from high quality hair would cost you several hundred dollars. The price really depends on the quality of the hair used - Asian hair is cheaper, while European hair costs 2-3 times more. If you want good looking hair - especially blond hair - you will have to pay for European material.Online you might find hair extension 'starter kits' with complete instructions, which aren't difficult to apply. So if you feel adventurous, you can buy a do-it-yourself kit and save significantly. If done correctly, this type of hair extension looks as good as any salon made one. If you decide to follow this route, though, make sure that you order high quality hair.

What types of hair extension are available?

The two major types of hair extension are individual strands and wefts.

Individual strands, as the name implies, are attached one piece at a time to your own hair, usually using glue, or with waxes and polymers. The problem here is that most of the attachment methods require coating your natural hair with rather unfriendly chemicals. Attaching these extensions isn't a problem, but removing this type of extension can seriously damage your hair.

Wefts, on the other hand, are braided into your hair, so no chemicals are needed. A weft looks like a curtain of hair held together at the top and hanging freely toward the bottom. It is braided into your hair around the midline of your head - about ear level. It is safer for your hair but, on the downside, as you own hair grows wefts have to be rebraided - about once every two months.

What materials are used for hair extensions?

First, hair for extensions can be either synthetic or real human hair. Synthetic extensions are cheaper, of course, but you get what you pay for - they look like artificial strands attached to your hair. They're not very pleasant to the touch, either.

Human hair used for extensions gives better results. Human extension hair differs by origin. The most common are hair from India and Asian countries. They are great, if you are an Asian woman yourself. Unfortunately this type of hair has a noticeably different texture from a Caucasians natural hair, so on Caucasian women they just don't look right.

European hair is of better quality, usually originating from Spain and Italy, is of better quality but costs more. The only problem is that its natural color is usually coal black. To make a blond extensions out of them, Italian or Spanish hair needs to be heavily bleached.

There are also so-called 'raw' or 'virgin' hair. This is European hair coming from Central and Eastern European countries, like Russia and Poland. The advantage of this hair that it is naturally light and of a very high quality. However, this type of hair is difficult to find and costs an arm and a leg.

Benefits of Human Hair Extensions

Several different types of hair extensions are available, including those made from human hair, animal hair, and synthetic fibers. Most experts agree that human hair extensions are the best and most natural looking. With human hair extensions, wearers are not locked into a particular color or style. The extensions can be washed, colored, and styled just like your own natural hair. Such a wide variety of human hair extensions are available that stylists can easily match the color and texture of your own hair with.

With expert selection, professional application, and conscientious care, human hair extensions are virtually indistinguishable from your own natural hair.

Human hair extensions are available in two basic formats -- strands and wefts. The strands format involves adding small sections of hair to your existing hair. Wefts are large clumps of hair attached at the top. Human hair extensions can be applied in a variety of ways. One popular method is to sew the extensions into small cornrows. Professionals will often sew strands with subtle color variations -- this tends to give the extensions a more natural look. Hair extensions can also be weaved, braided, fused, clamped, or glued.

Beyond the different formats, there are also large varieties of hair types available. Hair from most regions of the world is available, including Asia, Europe, and the Arctic. Arctic hair is chemically untreated, also known as raw or virgin. This hair is considered the best as it is most open to coloring, perming, and styling.

If you are considering adding human hair extensions to your hair, seek a licensed cosmetologist for consultation. It is also a good idea to check references or the stylist's portfolio

What are clip-in hair extensions and how are they attached?

Clip-in extensions are perfect if you want to turn your hair into beautiful flowing locks instantly. But, of course, on the down side, they have to be removed at the end of the day. So clip-ins are good for a party, a special date or just whenever you want to look different for a few hours. They are much cheaper than salon-made permanent hair extensions. Another advantage is that clip-ins don't damage your own hair in any way.

Quality hair extensions are several strands of hair, each attached individually. Usually 3- or 4-inch wide pieces go on the back of your head in several layers, and a few 1- or 2-inch wide pieces are put on the sides. As the name suggests, each strand is attach to your own hair with a clip. With a little bit of practice, clipping the extensions in becomes rather easy and takes only a few minutes. Taking them off is even easier.

You can usually find 14", 16" and 18" clip-in extensions. Anything longer puts too much tension on your own hair.

Who can wear clip-in extensions?

Clip-in extensions are suitable for people whose natural hair is shoulder length or longer. If you have medium length hair, extensions can make it longer. If you have long but very fine hair, or your hair is not in its best condition, clip-in hair extensions are a great way to bring richness and
fullness to your hair.

However, clip-in extensions will not work for women with very short hair. Extensions only look natural when they are mixed in with your natural hair, so if your hair is short, people will notice that you are wearing extensions. If you have a short haircut, but are dying for long locks, buy a wig that is similar in color to your natural hair. High quality designers wigs look very natural - nobody will guess that you are wearing a wig unless you tell them. If a wig is not for you, then you can go for salon-made hair extensions that are braided or glued to your own hair. These stay in for several months, but cost significantly more than clip-ins.

Do clip-in extensions look natural?

It depends on the quality of extensions you get. First, you should know that hair extensions can be made from natural human hair or from synthetic fibers. I will be honest: synthetic hair extensions are cheap, but you get exactly what you pay for. They just don't look right. High quality human hair clip-in extensions, on the other hand, look like they grow from your own head.
If you look online, you will find many brands of clip-in extension. It is best to go for a well known maker of hair-pieces and extensions, such as Diva in a Box, PutOnPieces or Raquel Welch. See pictures of clip-in hair extensions (will be a link) from different brands.

Since the extensions are mixed in with your own hair, color matching is very important. And the good news is that human hair clip-in extensions can be colored to match your own hair color exactly. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that at home - it is better to color your extensions at the salon. You can also use hot iron on the human hair extensions to curl them a little.

How much do they cost?

The cost varies greatly, depending on the material. Synthetic hair extensions will cost you less than $100. For a real human hair extensions, you might pay from $200 to $400. However, you can get good discounts through online hair extensions and wigs shops

Clip-in hair extensions can be real fun. They will help you to create a different image instantly, which is very important for a busy modern woman.

The Benefits of Cold Fusion Hair Extensions

Hair extensions are used to thicken hair or add color, depth, length and texture to your hair. As one of the secrets of Hollywood stars, hair extensions has become one of the most popular treatments in improving how the hair looks, feels, moves, falls down and goes up.

There are others ways to achieve hair improvement through adding hair. These include sewing, clipping, gluing and tubing. However, the most preferred method of hair weaving is hair extensions through fusion.

Fusions hair extensions became popular because of its painless, non-surgical procedure that lasts only about fifteen minutes, but could provide longer lasting results of up to five to six months. If you wish to have extensions attached to your roots, then you might consider this method to
produce a more natural look.

Fusion can be used for either hot or cold fusions hair extensions. While hot fusion uses hot glue to attach the extensions, cold fusion hair extensions are attached by using keratin-based polymer that is attached to your roots one stand at a time. Instead of heat, this method works by using ultra sonic waves (or rapid impulses).

The Popularity of Cold Fusion Hair Extensions

Although cold fusion hair extensions are relatively a new option for hair weaving, it is becoming increasingly popular for people who love weft hair.Even though both hot fusion and cold fusion extensions provide lasting results with a more natural look, the popularity of cold fusion hair extensions is becoming more evident – and this is for a valid reason.

The traditional hot fusion uses hot bonding material to attach the hair on your roots. Because of this, some people have reported burns and scalpdamage. On the other hand, since cold fusion hair extensions are attached using milder solution, there will never be any possible burning.

Another advantage of cold fusion extensions is that it could last longer compared to extensions that were installed using hot fusion. In addition, due to the flexibility of keratin-based polymer, your extensions will never be stiff and unnatural-looking hair.

When applied by a professional, cold fusion hair extensions will be indistinguishable from your natural hair. Since this hair extensions method uses no type of heat, they are ideal for people with thin or very fine hair.

If you want to achieve natural looking, 100% human hair extensions that can match your natural hair color, then cold fusions extensions are the best option for you. With these kinds of extensions, you will have longer, thicker and plumper hair than you ever had before.

What are Fusion Hair Extensions?

When you want to have hair extensions, it can be attached in several methods, such as gluing, sewing, tubing and clipping. While each has their own pros and cons, choosing the method for your hair extensions depends on personal factors such as lifestyle, needs, hair condition and budget. If you’re looking for a long-lasting hair extensions that looks natural, then fusion hair extensions are perfect for you.

Fusion hair extensions are perfect for people who feel uncomfortable with readymade hairs that has been clipped on. This procedure is also ideal for people who are afraid that their hair extensions might fall out.

Fusion hair extensions are the most preferred type of extensions because it could last up to four to six months when applied by a professional and when maintained properly. The best thing about hair extensions using fusion is that the extensions are impossible to tell apart from your natural hair type.

As the name suggests, fusion hair extensions are attached to your hair by undergoing a process called “fusion bonding”. This method works by “fusing” the extensions with keratin proteins from your natural hair – strand by strand. The weft is then attached to the roots of your hair using a heated adhesive stick and bonding glue, which are designed specifically for fusion hair extensions.

Two Methods behind Fusion Hair Extensions

Fusion hair extensions can be either hot or cold. With hot fusion, the extensions are attached to your hair using hot glue. This kind of treatment could last up to four months. While many people are avid followers of hot fusion extensions, some believe that it could result in a stiff and unnatural-looking hair.

On the other hand, cold fusion is designed similarly to hot fusion, but with a gentler effect on your hair. This type of fusion extension uses keratin-based polymer that will be attached to your roots. Since cold fusion does not use heat, it is ideal for thin or fine hair. Cold fusion hair extensions could last up to six months.

Since fusion can produce long-lasting hair, both hot and cold treatments are more expensive than other hair weaving methods. In addition, the type of hair used can increase or decrease the price of your treatment. Hair types include Chinese, Indian, African, European, Asian and synthetic hair.

Simply put, if you want to have hair extensions that could last several months, achieve a natural-looking extensions and become worry-free of your hair, then fusion hair extensions is perfect for you.

Perfect Hairstyle Ideas

Perfect Hairstyle is great look for your face. A hairstyle with which frames the face and cut with lots of short layers. Short hair that is easy to retain would make her look young but without seeming like she is trying too hard. The layers will also hide the wrinkles and draw the eyes away from the slouch and the facelift scars. Heart shape face has a wide forehead and a narrow chin line.

Therefore hairstyles should be such that will reduce the breadth of the forehead and increase the width of the lower part of the face. A chin length bob is most acclamatory on your face shape. Bobs incline to be fuller at the bottom, which is what you would want if you were trying to bring width to your thin jawbone. A large, bowed forehead with a rounded chin. The face looks full and has very few angles. Cheekbones are clearly roomy than brow bone and jaw line.

Hairstyles with abundance and height at the crown will draw attention upward giving you a longer face shape. Haircuts that emphasize your cheekbones at mid-line of the face are most flattering. Go for side partings. Bangs and waves at the temple will soften the square shape of your face.

Wear hair coming forward onto the face to reduce the square feature of the face. Hair length is best about 1-1/2″ below the chin. Height in crown will create illusion of length. Short to medium lengths with fullness at the sides of your face and at your eyes and cheeks, is perfect for you.

You can also try soft and wispy bangs since it will shorten the appearance of the length. Layer works great with your face structure, as they will add mildness to the straight lines in your face. Always have side separation to throw off the balance of your face. If you have a triangular shape face then this is the precisly opposite of the heart shape face. You should wear short hairstyles.

When moisture drops below 10-10.2%, the hair turns to look like brittle straw. Any type of moisture will increase the strength of the hair by up to 300%.Though conditioners add strength; they are only for temporary reasons. Conditioners tend to evaporate much more slowly and contribute to the strength of the hair for a longer time, but will leave deposits that may weigh down the hair.

WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL DAMAGE YOUR HAIR?

Swelling is one of the most damaging conditions of the hair. It helps loose flexibility, natural bounce, elasticity, strength and is easier to break. It is necessary to consider the fact about the normal moisture content of the hair. When the moisture decreases; the hair becomes straw-like. Hair damage may also occur as a result of combing forces, shampooing, Towel drying and conditioning the hair. So, most of the manufacturers design shampoos with a negative charge and conditioners with a positive charge.

Types of Hair:

During the collecting and sorting of the donated hair it is divided into two groups:

1) REMY HAIR – Hair is being cut, maintained with the roots aligned and bound together at the top of the bundle. These bundles are carefully preserved throughout the export process and arrive at the factory.

2) NON REMY HAIR – These are hairs that do not have its roots aligned. They are collected off the floor, or there may be some other reason they were unable to keep the roots together and running in the same direction.

Hair Extensions Techniques

Some of these methods used to attach Hair Extensions Techniques...

1)Cord Tracking/Pinch Weaving method:
Here, strands of hair are placed horizontally on the scalp area. A lock stitch is used to affix the same. The strands of hair are woven close to the scalp area. Natural hair is combed over this. These need to be attached keeping in mind the natural look of the hair.

2)Bonding method:
In this case, a special adhesive is created to help in hair bonding. Such hair extensions are glued to the tiny strands of hair. Some quality hair extensions already have adhesive on each and every section of the hair. The difference in the two would be the amount of time you can save in gluing these hair extensions to your original hair. Such quality hair extensions are used to add more volume and length to the hair. Bonding methods used for this process are also many to name, such as thermal bonding, liquid bonding and adhesive bonding. Here, the adhesives differ and also the methods used for their application.

3)Clip in Method:
Clip in hair extensions are very easy to use and can be done in no amount of time! Due to their versatility, they can be used at home with ease! The clip in hair extensions does not require the use of glue and are relatively safer for your original hair. Quality clip in hair extensions can even be curled or straightened as per your desire.

4)Tube Method:
The tube technique is relatively new where tiny clamping tubes are used to attach the hair extensions. The tubes are locked together which helps to hold the hair extensions in place. In this process, hair is first separated into sections. This is then pulled through a tube fastener. The tips of the tubes also have some adhesive on that portion so that the hair can hold together very well.

Hair Extensions: Safety Issues

If you have often wondered about the safety of hair extensions, then it would completely depend upon the process you use. Some beauty experts have the opinion that frequent use of hair extensions is not really good for the original texture of your hair. The process of using hair extensions does not really hurt; sometimes you may feel the tension but change the hair stylist if it causes you too much pain. You must always go to a reputed stylist to try out any of the methods mentioned above. Always go in for quality hair extensions to avoid damaging your original hair. You would also need to consult your stylist to know about the after-care for hair extensions.

Hair Extensions Maintenance Tips

There are a few things you can do to get the most out of your hair extensions. They can be shampooed, styled and brushed the same as your natural hair, but don’t try to alter their colour. This should be done professionally. The most important thing is to be gentle with it so as to increase the life of the bond attaching it and use a soft bristle brush, to brush out tangles from the bottom ends up towards your head. At night, to avoid matting, tie it up or braid it if it’s fairly long, and never sleep with wet or damp hair. Avoid using any silicone-based products or conditioners on the extension where it is bonded to your natural hair, as this will make the bond slip off.

How Hair Extensions are Attached?

There are several different ways to attach hair extensions. However, there are a few basic methods which are used most often. But first it is important to understand the hair that is actually being attached and how to choose the best for yourself.

Most hair that is used for extensions comes in wefts. These are strands of hair that are attached together with a curtain at the top. A strand of hair is about 30 individual strands of hair that are bundled together. Each strand of hair has a cuticle that is faced in a certain direction. All the cuticles on a persons head are actually facing the right directing. If the hair is cut directly from a persons head then all the cuticles will go in the same direction and the hair will be very shiny and smooth. Cuticles are the main thing that affects the feel and look of a person\'s hair.

There are both human hair and synthetic hair that are used for hair extensions. If you want to get a good quality hair you will get what you pay for. Cuticle hair is the hair that is cut off of a persons head. This means that all of the cuticles are going in the same direction and the hair will not become tangled or matted easily. This is an expensive hair but it will be of higher quality and will last much longer. Much of the hair that is used nowadays comes from European women. This is because they tend not to use the chemicals on their hair like American women do. In addition, more and more hair is coming from India, Asia and Russia. The best quality hair is cut off of women and is sold specifically for hair extensions. Women will grow their hair long and will not color it or perm it. This way they will be able to cut it and sell their hair.

Synthetic hair is also available for use. This is man-made and comes in a variety of quality levels. If you get a really expensive synthetic hair piece then you know it is still of very high quality.

Once you have determined the type of hair that you will use and the amount of money you will spend you will need to determine how you will attach your extensions. There are several ways to do this, but the most popular are bonding and weaving.

Bonding hair extensions is the quickest way to attach hair extensions. Bonding glue is applied to the weft and then is applied at the root of your hair. This is a temporary method that will need to be redone on a regular basis.

Weaving extensions into your hair will actually need to be done by making corn rows or tracks on the head. This is done very close to the scalp of the head. Natural hair will lay over the tracks which will create a natural look.

Hair Extension - Dream Colors

A look back on hair's colorful history reveals its dark and sometimes laughable past. Archaeologists believe that cave men used minerals, insects and plants to paint their bodies and hair to appeal or repel, though no one has yet discovered the first color to bewitch the Neanderthal man.

At Home Hair Color

Hair condition matters, too. If your hair is permed or relaxed, semi-permanent color is an advantageous choice because it's gentler on hair that's been previously exposed to chemicals. (Never bleach relaxed hair.)

Natural Hair Color

If you prefer a natural look, also stay within a few shades of your natural hair color. (Hairdressers refer to shades as levels. Those levels range from one, which is black, to 10, which is pale blonde.) Go a bit lighter or darker, more golden or red, but avoid going from rich, dark brown to blazing red, unless daring is your style.

Human Hair Extensions

Hair is one of the most important accessories a woman has. It’s something she has to think about every single day. Your hair can make or break your look and how you feel. Now hair extensions can enable you to transform the appearance of fine, lifeless or short hair into thick, long, beautiful looking hair. Using natural human hair extensions by Great Lengths Strands will allow you to literal change your hair in an afternoon. Don’t wait another day to experience the excitement of what human hair extensions can do for you! Whether you just need volume or you want super long locks, it’s the hair you’ve always dreamed of… made real!

A consultation is always complimentary and necessary to determine which type of strand fusion / human hair extension method is best suited for you. During your consultation we will discuss your lifestyle, habits and needs. I will also analyze your scalp and the health of your hair. I can then make recommendations for you based on this information, and will be able to provide a quote on what your dream hair will cost.

What are Great Lengths Strands Fusion Hair Extensions?
Great Lengths Hair Extensions are pre-bonded strands of hair that are attached to small sections of your own natural hair near the root. Length, volume or both is now safe and comfortable to achieve so you can stop dreaming about the hairstyle of your dreams.

How are the Great Lengths strands fusion extensions applied?
While others use techniques such as welding, waxing, gluing or knotting, the method of bonding that Great Lengths utilizes is the highest technology. They use keratin, which is the tough protein substance that is the main structural component of our hair and nails. The Great Lengths strands keratin bond is a polymer compound whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair so it moves and behaves like your own hair to ensure a gentle, yet strong hold.

Will people know that I am wearing extensions?
The extensions are always applied behind the hair line and away from your natural partings. With Great Lengths strands, it's possible to customize the size of the bond to accommodate any type of hair from ultra-fine to very thick. The result is undetectable attachments that are brushable, durable and most importantly, non-damaging to your natural strands.

Will the extensions match my hair color and texture?
Color matches are never an issue with Great Lengths strands. They have over 50 shades to choose from, including fun fashion shades for those who are bold and daring. I will often select 6 or more different colors in order to mimic the natural variation of your hair color for a completely seamless blend. The Great Lengths strands come in 3 different textures to match any kind of hair - from stick straight to the tightest ringlet curl.

Will my hair extensions feel natural?
Great Lengths fusion strands are 100% human hair extensions of extraordinary quality because it has never been exposed to harsh chemical treatments. It feels soft, silky and natural and will become like your own hair. However, it will take a few days to adjust to having extensions in your hair. After that initial adjustment period, you will forget that you are even wearing them. You will be able to engage in any activity.

Will the natural hair extensions cause hair loss or damage my natural hair?
Hair loss or damage does not occur if the hair extensions are applied correctly, maintained properly and removed patiently. Something that separates an average hair extension technician from an amazing hair extension specialist is the amount of patience the stylist has. An amazing application is a tedious process and requires equal distribution, even placement and the use of correct sized attachments. When the attachment area is too large, it will cause strain on the natural hair resulting in hair loss.

How do I care for my hair extensions?
You are able to wash, brush and style your newly transformed hairstyle as you normally do. The only thing to be concerned about is matting near the root as the bond begins to grow away from your head. This can be avoided by brushing the hair from scalp to ends with a natural boar bristle brush
